Currently installed with Noctua NH-D15 Chromax black (the 2 FAN SKU with ram clearance) HOWEVER, only 1 FAN installed in the middle, as there is not enough clearance for the 2nd fan (on the front the ram is on the way, on the back the integrated heat spreader / backplate cover. Placing it higher is no option as I then sticks out of the case. Solved by Votivee, You can absolutely run 2 or 3 fans off of the same header on a motherboard with a splitter. The fans on the splitter will run at the same speeds. I would recommend using the same RPM fans if you can't use identical models. I have a Dark Rock Pro 4, and then 2 intake and one exhaust. My intake fans run on a splitter on the The d15 is not a Fan. Its a dual tower heatsink. People using Fan for heatsink drive me up the wall. The d15 is overkill for a 5600x if budget is tight. Otherwise, nope that's fine. Looking at the GPU he is going to buy (AMD RX 6800 XT) + the memory kit he got + the SSD he picked, he clearly isn't on a tight budget. 89. Noctua's low profile NH-L9i heatsink stands 36mm tall so it will fit into the smallest of small form factor chassis. The NH-L9i is designed to cool Intel socket LGA115x (1155/1156/1150 Basically, on Amazon CA the NH-D15 is $109CAD, the NH-D15 Chromax is $149.95CAD, and the NH-D15S is $119.95CAD. Obviously i want to get the Chromomax version. But there is no way I am getting the (dual fan) D15 Chromax, too expensive. I understand the D15S only has one fan. So it comes down to the D15 (dual fan) vs the D15S (single fan Chromax). Conclusions. The NH-D15S is at least as good as its predecessor, the NH-D15. It accomplishes Noctua’s main aims of making more room for a 1 st -slot card, bringing down the cost of the cooler, and making this heatsink truly compatible with tall RAM. Noctua says that three fans are no better than two fans. 1. The Noctua NH-D15 is a high-end CPU cool er that is known for its excellent cooling performance. 2. It is equipped with two 140 mm fans, which provide excellent airflow and cooling performance. 3. The Noctua NH-D15 is very quiet, even when running at full speed. 4. Noctua NH-D15 too large and too heavy? I had to remove the second fan because the Ram was too tall, the fan was getting squashed by the tempered glass. I’m also worried that this cooler is too heavy, I have an MSI MEG x570 Unify but in the long term it might bend it. Should I just return this cooler and get an AIO, or a smaller cooler? .

is the noctua nh d15 worth it
